I’m not yet sure how this was set up, i simply copy/pasted from another user’s message into my gmail account signature and edited the text for my name etc., and it seems fine. The images from the signature appear as attachments or are removed on a forward / reply email. Although, if they preferred, they could adjust a setting to ask before displaying external images.

As far as i remember, i copy/pasted my signature from a wysiwyg editor (it's a table with an image and little text) and the image got (automatically) stored on google drive. I've also tried posting the image to dropboxpro, which allows open permissions, but the link doesn't work.
